Shirarahama

The sand is white and smooth, the color of the ocean is bright blue. It is very popular as a bathing beach and chosen as one of the 100 best beaches in Japan.
Shirarahama has become a friendship sister beach with Waikiki beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Beautiful flaming sunset

Engetsuto islet

Engetsuto islet has long been known as a symbol of Shirahama.
The official name is Takashima. It is has long been called "Engetsu (Round moon)" since there is a round moon shaped sea erosion cave in the center of the island.
The sunset of Engetsuto islet is selected as one of the 100 best sunsets in Japan and the beauty of the evening with the sunset is breathtaking. The sunset time is around 06:30 p.m. in summer and around 04:30 p.m. in winter.

Sandanbeki
